About Lakeside Wellness

Evidence-based mental health and parenting coaching for individuals and families seeking greater calm, confidence, and wellbeing.

About Emily

Hi, I’m Emily VanderMolen.

I am a Certified Professional Coach (CPC), Professional Certified Coach (PCC), and graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. For more than a decade, I have been passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience, self-awareness, and wellbeing.

My work is grounded in a holistic view of mental wellness that recognizes the connection between mind, body, relationships, and environment. I draw from evidence-based coaching approaches, mindfulness practices, nervous system regulation techniques, and strengths-based strategies to help clients create meaningful and sustainable change.

I have extensive experience supporting parents, particularly those raising children with ADHD, behavioral challenges, and other neurodiverse needs. Drawing from both my professional experience and my own lived experience as a parent, I understand firsthand the unique joys and demands of parenting and am passionate about helping parents move from overwhelm and exhaustion toward confidence, calm, and connection.

As a lifelong learner, I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and plan to expand my practice to include counseling services in the future. My professional interests include stress management, anxiety, resilience, parenting, behavior change, mindfulness, and nature-based approaches to wellbeing.

Living near the shores of Lake Michigan, I am continually inspired by the restorative power of nature. I believe some of life’s most meaningful growth happens when we slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and create space to listen to what matters most. Through Lakeside Wellness, my goal is to help individuals and families cultivate greater balance, resilience, and wellbeing while building lives aligned with their values.

When I’m not working with clients or studying, you’ll likely find me spending time with my husband and three children, hiking local trails, exploring the Lake Michigan shoreline, tending a garden, or enjoying the beauty of Northern Michigan.
